| Beschrijving voorzijde | The king is depicted full-length, standing erect within a ship, holding a sword in his right hand and a quartered shield of the royal arms of England and France in his left. An annulet appears beside the sword arm as a mintmark diagnostic of the Annulet issue, and a lis follows the king's name in the legend. The ship's hull is detailed with shields and rigging, rendered in the characteristic late medieval English hammered style. The circumferential legend in Latin is separated by small trefoil stops and runs within a beaded border, identifying the king as Henry by the Grace of God, King of England and France, Lord of Ireland. |
