| Obverse description | King Edward III depicted full-length, facing, standing within a ship, wearing a crown and full armor. He holds an upright sword in his right hand and a quartered shield in his left. The ship's hull features a prominent railing with shields, and the rigging is rendered in fine detail characteristic of the Pre-treaty noble series. The royal effigy is enclosed by a legend in Lombardic lettering around the coin's periphery. |
