Below the numeral appears the denomination legend in Hebrew (שקל חדש) and Latin (NEW SHEQEL), separated by a small Star of David mint mark. The upper border carries the country name in Hebrew (ישראל) and Latin (ISRAEL) and, continuing to the right, in Arabic (اسرائيל); the lower border bears the Gregorian year 1999 and the Hebrew year התשנ״ט, separated by dots. |
