表面の説明 Central field displays the large numeral '1' to the left, flanked to the right by a finely detailed relief of a palm tree, referencing the biblical 'Palm of Deborah' (Judges 4:5). The State of Israel coat of arms, featuring the menorah flanked by olive branches, appears at the upper center. A trilingual circular legend around the upper periphery reads 'DEBORAH THE PROPHETESS (JUDGES 4, 4–5)' in Latin and Hebrew, with the Arabic equivalent along the left rim. Below the numeral, the denomination is inscribed in Hebrew (שקל חדש), English (NEW SHEKEL), and Arabic (شيكل جديد), followed by the Gregorian year 2023 and the Hebrew year התשפ"ג. At the lower rim, the country name ISRAEL appears in Hebrew (ישראל), Arabic (إسرائيل), and Latin script, separated by a small Star of David.

裏面の説明 The reverse presents a richly detailed figural composition in high relief against a deeply frosted field. Dominating the left and center is a standing draped female figure — Deborah the Prophetess — shown in three-quarter profile facing right, her head covered with a veil and her long hair falling over her shoulder. She raises her right arm aloft, holding a balance scale with chains, symbolic of her role as judge of Israel. In her left hand she holds a tall staff. In the lower right of the field, two male warriors are depicted, one kneeling and one standing, both raising swords upward, evoking the military leadership associated with Deborah's role in the battle against Sisera. The composition is rendered in a classical sculptural style with pronounced chiaroscuro contrasts between the polished relief figures and the matte background.

追加情報

Deborah is the only judge in the Book of Judges described as both a military leader and a prophet, and one of the very few women in the Hebrew Bible to hold active political authority. This coin is part of Israel's long-running "Judges of Israel" series, which the Bank of Israel has issued in silver and gold formats since the 1990s, each release drawing on a figure from the biblical period of tribal confederation predating the monarchy.

The series has occasionally attracted controversy over the selection order and relative prominence given to minor versus major judges.
