| 备注 |
The "nouveaux francs" overprint series was a direct consequence of de Gaulle's 1960 redenomination, which replaced the old franc at 100:1. Rather than printing entirely new colonial issues, the Caisse Centrale simply applied a "1 NF" overprint to existing 100-franc stocks — a practical solution that also created an unavoidable transitional overlap, with both valuation systems in simultaneous use across French overseas territories.
Armanelli and Régnier were among the Banque de France's most accomplished intaglio engravers of the postwar period. The quality of the plate work on this series is markedly finer than contemporary issues from competing colonial printers.
