Reverse description Central field bearing the two-character Chinese denomination 壹圓 (One Yuan) rendered in archaic seal-script style within a recessed rectangular cartouche, set against a plain field. Encircling the denomination is an ornate wreath composed of plum blossom branches in full flower with buds, the stems intertwining around the lower portion of the design to form a near-complete decorative ring. The overall composition is finely detailed and naturalistic in the rendering of the blossoms.
