Obverse description Irregular square flan produced by hammering, bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged across the entire field within a plain border. The legend reads 'Sultan Ahmed bin Mehmed Khan, may he be victorious, struck in Tunis' accompanied by the final two digits of the Hijri regnal year. The bold, deeply struck Naskh-style script fills the available space with characteristic Ottoman calligraphic conventions. The surface shows typical hammered texture with natural die-stress marks consistent with early 18th-century Tunisian minting practice.
