Obverse description Central device depicts the coat of arms of Panevėžys — a shield bearing a stone tower with arched gateway and battlements. The legend PANEVĖŽYS arcs above the shield, and the founding year 15 03 (1503) flanks the device on either side. A small designer's mark appears in the lower field.
