| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash-type coin featuring four Chinese characters rendered in Li (clerical) script, arranged radially around a central square perforation. Reading clockwise from the top, the legend reads 海東通寶 (Haedong Tongbo, meaning 'Currency of the Eastern Sea'), with one character positioned in each quadrant of the field. The characters are separated by raised linear rims framing the central square hole, and the coin is bordered by a plain outer rim. The surfaces display typical cast texture with natural patination consistent with Goryeo-period production. |
