| Reverse description | Cast bronze reverse with a central square hole flanked by two Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) positioned in the upper and right fields relative to the central perforation. The character 開 (Kae, indicating the Kaesong Township Military Office as the issuing mint) appears to the upper-left of the hole, while the series numeral 一 (il, series 1) appears to the right. The flat field is otherwise plain, enclosed by a raised outer rim. The sparse inscription follows the standard Joseon-era convention of indicating mint office and production series on the reverse. |
