Reverse description The reverse displays three Chinese characters in regular script arranged around the central square perforation: the mint control character 戶 (Ho, denoting the Treasury Department, Hojo) positioned to the right of the hole, the series number 九 (9) to the left, and the cosmological series character 宇 (U, the second character of the Thousand Character Classic) below. A plain raised inner rim frames the square hole, and a plain outer rim borders the coin. The flat field bears no additional ornament, consistent with standard Joseon cash coin practice.
