The mint identifier 户 (Ho), denoting the Treasury Department (Hojo), appears at the top. The serial number 三 (Sam), meaning 'three' and indicating Series 3, is placed at the bottom. A crescent symbol appears to the right of the square hole. The field is otherwise plain, enclosed by a plain outer rim.
