Bar scrip from a single-location tavern in a town of under 1,500 people — Cadott sits in Chippewa County, a region where this kind of informal one-drink token circulated between regulars as change equivalents or tab markers. Paper scrip of this type was never intended to survive; it passed across the bar, got wet, got folded into a shirt pocket, and was redeemed or lost within days. The fact that any copy exists in collectible condition is purely accidental.
