Hasbro produced this piece for a licensed Simpsons edition of Monopoly released in 2003, one of several branded variants the company was aggressively pushing in the early 2000s as the classic game's sales plateaued. Matt Groening holds the design credit by virtue of the franchise license, not because he had any direct hand in the artwork. These sets sold in enormous quantities, which keeps secondary market values negligible — oversupply has never corrected.
