Hasbro introduced Monopoly Junior as a simplified variant of the classic game, targeting younger players with smaller boards, reduced property counts, and a compressed denomination range. The 2016 edition's currency was redesigned to match a contemporaneous refresh of the Junior line's visual identity, distinct from the standard Monopoly palette.
Not legal tender, not a financial instrument, and outside the scope of serious notaphily — but complete sets in unplayed condition are increasingly sought by Monopoly ephemera collectors, for whom the Junior issues form a separate collecting category from the main series.
