Obverse description Four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged symmetrically around a central square perforation, reading clockwise from the top: 天 (tiān), 聖 (shèng), 寳 (bǎo), 元 (yuán), forming the legend 'Tenseigenpō'. Each character is rendered in bold, well-defined relief within the circular field, separated by the corners of the square hole. The coin exhibits a wide, plain rim enclosing the inscription.

Reverse description Plain and uninscribed reverse featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square border. The flat field between the inner square rim and the outer raised circular rim is undecorated, displaying the characteristic plain treatment typical of Nagasaki trade cash coinage of the late seventeenth century.
