| Beschrijving voorzijde | Four Chinese seal-script characters are arranged symmetrically around the central square hole, one character to each side, reading clockwise from the top: 紹 (right), 聖 (bottom-right), 元 (bottom), 寶 (left), forming the legend 'Shōseigenpō' (Shōsei currency). The characters are rendered in bold relief within a plain, slightly raised rim. The field is otherwise unadorned, consistent with the cast cash-coin tradition of the period. |
