| Obverse description | Cast copper cash coin of traditional East Asian form, featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a flat inner rim. Four Chinese seal-script characters are disposed in the cardinal positions around the central hole, reading clockwise from the top: 乾 (top), 元 (right), 大 (bottom), and 寳 (left), composing the legend 乾元大寳 (Kengen Taihō). The characters are raised in relief against a flat field, enclosed within a plain outer rim. The surfaces display natural olive-brown and verdigris patina consistent with ancient bronze alloy casting. |
