Reverse description Plain, largely featureless field surrounding the central square hole, with a raised inner rim bordering the hole and a raised outer rim defining the coin's edge. Two kanji mintmark characters identify the issuing authority: 久 (ku, denoting the Kuji district mint) positioned above the square hole, and 二 (ni, denoting the second issue) positioned below the hole. The reverse field is otherwise flat and unadorned, consistent with standard Edo-period iron cash coinage practice.
