Obverse description Cast copper cash coin of typical East Asian square-hole type, displaying the four-character reign legend 貞享通寳 (Jōkyō Tsūhō) arranged in the traditional cross-reading order around the central square perforation: 貞 (top), 通 (right), 寳 (left), 享 (bottom). The bold, well-defined characters are rendered in regular script (kaisho) with raised relief against a flat field. A plain raised rim borders the coin, and the surface shows natural olive-brown patina with areas of darker oxidation consistent with age.
