Reverse description Plain and uninscribed reverse, displaying the characteristic raised inner square rim surrounding the central square perforation and an outer circular rim, both cast in copper. The flat field between the rims is entirely blank, showing no legend, decoration, or mint mark. The surface is heavily encrusted with dark patina and patches of green verdigris, consistent with the coin's age and burial history. This unadorned reverse is standard for Japanese Kocho Junisen series cash coinage of the Heian period.
