Obverse description Cast copper cash-type coin centred on a square perforation, surrounded by a raised inner rim. The four-character legend 元豊通寶 (Genpōtsūhō) is disposed in the conventional top-bottom-right-left reading order around the central hole, rendered in a fluid cursive (running script / xingshu) style that imparts a distinctive calligraphic quality to the characters. The raised outer rim is well-defined, and the flat field between the characters shows the characteristic granular surface texture of a sand-cast coin.
