| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Bengali legend distributed across the open field without a cartouche, giving it a more open, coin-like appearance compared to the obverse. At the top, the auspicious invocation 'Shri Shri' appears, followed by the name of the ruling maharaja, Nripendra Narayan, and the regnal/Shaka era date 354 (corresponding to 1864 CE) at the base. The legends are separated by decorative dot ornaments and enclosed within a fine beaded border. The field shows the characteristic hand-struck texture of hammered coinage produced at the Cooch-Behar Mint. |
