Obverse description A bull (Taurus zodiac symbol) depicted standing to the left in high relief, rendered in a naturalistic Mughal artistic style within a beaded border. A radiate sun with bold rays fills the upper field behind the bull's back, its rays extending across the coin's surface in a strikingly decorative manner. The composition is contained within an inner circle of radiating lines, itself enclosed by a raised dotted border at the rim. The bold, sculptural treatment of the bull reflects the celebrated zodiac series commissioned by Emperor Jahangir, known for their artistic ambition and portraiture of astrological subjects.
