Reverse description The reverse presents a distinctive and elaborate royal heraldic composition characteristic of Ghazi-ud-Din Haidar's coinage. At the centre of the field, two crowned fish, the dynastic emblem of Awadh, are depicted passant and addorsed, flanking a central crowned minar or tower motif rising from a globe or orb. The composition is encircled by sinuous foliate scrollwork and additional decorative devices filling the field. Arabic legends in Nastaliq script appear in the upper and lower registers, the lower bearing the mint name 'Zarb Banaras' (struck at Banaras) within a plain linear border enclosing the entire design.
