Kishangarh was among the smaller Rajput states to strike gold mohurs in the regal style acknowledging Victoria as Empress — a practice that followed the 1876 Royal Titles Act but was adopted unevenly across the princely states, with many smaller thikanas issuing such pieces only sporadically near the end of her reign. This piece, struck under Madan Singh, who ruled Kishangarh from 1879 to 1900, dates to the very close of Victoria's life and his own rule simultaneously.
