| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a densely composed Arabic-script legend arranged in multiple registers within a circular cartouche, typical of late Zand dynasty coinage. The inscription, rendered in bold Naskh calligraphy, carries the Shi'a kalima and the name of the ruler Jafar Khan. Decorative floral and rosette ornaments punctuate the interstitial spaces between the lines of text. The entire design is enclosed within a prominent beaded border that runs along the full circumference of the coin. |
