| Obverse description | Square hammered flan with rounded corners bearing a central bold Nasta'liq calligraphic legend arranged within a diamond-shaped central field, reading the Kalima shahada. Surrounding the central inscription is a secondary marginal legend occupying the four triangular corner fields, executed in the same flowing Nasta'liq hand. The entire surface is densely covered with deeply cut Arabic script with no figurative imagery, consistent with orthodox Islamic coinage tradition as practised at the Mughal imperial mints. |

| Reverse description | Square hammered flan with three horizontal registers of bold Nasta'liq Arabic and Persian legends filling the field. The upper and lower registers contain shorter inscriptions denoting the regnal title and mint or date information, while the broad central register carries the principal legend recording the name and titles of Emperor Akbar. The deeply incised calligraphy is characteristic of the Lahore mint workshop of the late sixteenth century, with no decorative border or inner circle, the script occupying virtually the entire flat field. |
