| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse field displays multiple horizontal bands of bold Nasta'liq Arabic script arranged across the flan in the characteristic Durrani style, with floral and foliate ornaments separating the registers. The central legend proclaims the royal titles and name of Ahmad Shah Durrani, founder of the Durrani Empire, rendered in deeply struck relief. Additional marginal inscriptions in Arabic script encircle the field, partially running off the irregular flan. The surface exhibits the characteristic high relief and hand-struck texture typical of mid-18th century Afghan hammered gold coinage. |
