| Beschrijving keerzijde | Reverse field filled with the Shi'a kalima and the declaration of Ali's wilayat, rendered in bold nasta'liq calligraphy arranged in two horizontal registers divided by a central ruled line. The upper register contains the shahada formula affirming the unity of God and the prophethood of Muhammad, while the lower register bears the Twelver Shi'a formula proclaiming Ali as the wali of God. A scrolling arabesque border encircles the entire field, a hallmark of Safavid gold coinage of this period. The legends are deeply struck and legible despite the irregular planchet shape inherent to hammered production. |
