Obverse description Four Chinese characters arranged in a cruciform reading order — top to bottom, right to left — surrounding a small central square void. The legend reads 光緒銀錢 (Guangxu Yinqian, meaning 'Guangxu Silver Coin'), referencing the Guangxu Emperor (r. 1875–1908) of the Qing dynasty. The characters are hand-engraved in a bold, slightly irregular style consistent with provincial hammered coinage. The field is plain and unadorned beyond the central square and the four inscribed characters.
