| Obverse description | Black intaglio on polychrome lithographic underprint. A vignette of the Petrópolis Imperial Palace occupies the left portion of the note, while an allegorical angel figure appears to the right. The design combines chalcographic engraving with lithographic color work in a style typical of American Bank Note Company production of the period. |
