| Popis rubu | The Virgin Mary, crowned and robed, is enthroned upon a large baroque heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of Bavaria and the Palatinate, a putto at her side. She holds a sceptre and supports the Christ Child, who extends his arm in blessing. The date 1717 appears divided across the field to either side of the central group. The circular legend reads CLYPEVS OMNIB' IN TE SPERANTIB, meaning 'A shield to all who trust in Thee', a Marian devotional motto befitting the devoutly Catholic Wittelsbach court. |
