Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Sinhala inscription filling the field, rendered in bold, deeply struck characters arranged in a compact block layout typical of medieval Lankan hammered coinage. The legend reads 'Sri Ka-da-gan-ga', identifying the issuing ruler Codaganga (Sri Kadaganga), a short-lived king of the Polonnaruwa period. The script characters are surrounded by a beaded border consistent with the obverse. The lettering is deeply incuse and somewhat irregular in spacing, a natural consequence of the hand-hammered production technique. No additional decorative devices or symbols are present in the field.
