Aanvullende informatie

Finland shifted to iron coinage during the Continuation War, when copper and other non-ferrous metals were requisitioned for the war effort against the Soviet Union. The same wartime pressures affected minting across Scandinavia, but Finland's situation was acute — the country was simultaneously fighting a defensive war while navigating a complex co-belligerent relationship with Nazi Germany. Iron issues from 1943 onward corrode aggressively in circulation, making uncleaned examples without active rust genuinely difficult to find despite high mintage figures across the run.
