1 Marka Witkowo

Wydział Powiatowy Powiatu Witkowskiego — the district council of Witkowo — issued this note in 1919 during the brief administrative chaos of the Greater Poland Uprising, when Polish local authorities in the Poznań region were improvising civil infrastructure faster than any central monetary authority could supply it. Dozens of Polish powiats printed their own emergency scrip that year, and Witkowo was among the smaller issuers, which keeps surviving quantities low.
