The central vignette portrays the Hamburg folkloric figure Hummel — a water-carrier with shoulder yoke and buckets — striding leftward, trailed by a procession of townspeople of various ages in period dress, rendered in a lively caricature style. Below the vignette, a text panel flanked on either side by large green numeral "1" over "Mark" carries a four-line verse in blackletter; the printer's imprint appears at the lower right margin. |
