To the left, a detailed colour scene of the Ehrenfriedhof (memorial cemetery) at Westerland on Sylt is rendered, with rows of white grave crosses, a domed memorial chapel surmounted by an Iron Cross, and grave markers set against a pale sky. The denomination '1 Mark' appears in bold red Gothic type at upper left and upper right, and a four-line patriotic verse in Gothic script occupies the lower portion of the note. |
