Obverse description Letterpress note in a Jugendstil idiom, the composition enclosed within dense calligraphic scrollwork borders. The Hamburg civic arms — a white castle on red, flanked by two rampant golden lions beneath a crown — occupy the central vignette, with oval portrait medallions to either side bearing half-length photographic likenesses identified by ribbon banners as 'Robert Hahn sen.' and 'Robert Hahn jun.' The denomination '1 Mark' appears in large red Gothic script at lower centre, accompanied by the jubilee dates '1896–1921' on a scroll and the printer's imprint 'Druck: Coutinho u. Meyer' at the base.

Reverse description The reverse is arranged in three vertical panels within flowing calligraphic scroll borders. The left panel carries a circular vignette of the Perkeo figure — a jester astride a wine barrel above a Hamburg lion shield — with a red wax-seal-style stamp below; the central panel presents a line-engraved view of Hamburg's neo-Gothic Rathaus tower; and the right panel bears a cluster of white grapes with vine leaves, alongside a red circular validity stamp at lower right. A Gothic-script legend runs along the lower margin.
Okt. 1922 in Zahlung genommen
