正面描述 The obverse is dominated by a large vignette of a monumental standing figure on a pedestal, rendered in a stippled grey-black print against a lightly textured background evoking an open landscape with industrial or harbour elements to the right. At the base of the pedestal, the denomination numeral '1' appears within a black circular medallion flanked on both sides by a stylised ribbon in the black-white-red colours of the Imperial German merchant flag. The note is framed by a green decorative border with corner ornaments, with the motto 'Seid einig, einig, einig!' in bold Gothic lettering across the top and the patriotic inscription 'Deutschlands Handels-Flagge sei schwarz-weiss-rot!' along the lower margin.
正面铭文 Seid einig, einig, einig!

备注

Hamburg's 1921 Kultur- und Sportwoche was a civic festival note — one of thousands of German Notgeld issues produced during the inflationary chaos following the First World War, when municipalities and private organizations issued their own fractional currency to plug the chronic shortage of small change. What separates event-tied Notgeld like this from municipal emergency issues is intent: these were printed partly as collectibles, with the souvenir market explicitly in mind, and many never saw a day of actual use.

Coutinho & Meyer were a Hamburg printing house with a solid reputation for quality commercial work. Kleinschmidt's engraving credit is unusually specific for a Notgeld issue of this type.
