Obverse description The obverse presents a central oval vignette of the Alter Hafen (Old Harbour) of Wismar, rendered in a woodcut-style illustration with figures on the quayside and sailing masts in the background, framed by a wreath of wheat ears. To the left of the vignette appears the municipal coat of arms of Wismar in red and black, while to the right a large red numeral '9' above the legend 'ALLE' alludes to the bowling theme of the event. The denomination '1 MARK' is printed in red at the lower left and right corners, with 'WECHSELSCHEIN' running vertically along the left border and the event date 'WISMAR 9–17. OKT. 1921' along the right border.

Reverse description The reverse carries a lively interior scene of a German skittle alley (Kegelbahn), rendered in a linear illustrative style, with several players in period dress at various stages of play and spectators observing in the background. The denomination numeral '1' in red appears at the upper left and right corners, with 'MARK' in red at the lower left and right corners, flanked by decorative red skittle-shaped ornaments. Two Low German verse couplets are inscribed in gothic script, one across the upper register and one across the lower register.
