正面描述	The obverse is set against a cream ground covered with a fine floral rosette underprint in blue-green. The denomination numeral '1' is printed in large bold blackletter style at centre, flanked vertically by the words 'MARK' on either side in the same expressive hand-lettered script. The heading 'VOLKSABSTIMMUNG 20. MÄRZ 1921' arches across the top in heavy gothic lettering, with the issuing authority inscription 'KATTOWITZ DEN 16. MÄRZ 1921 / DER MAGISTRAT' and a manuscript signature below, while 'OBERSCHLESIEN' runs across the lower margin between two decorative floral ornaments. A serial number is printed vertically in red at the right margin.
