Obverse description Armored and crowned half-length effigy of King Karl IX facing right, brandishing a raised sword in the right hand and holding a Globus Cruciger in the left. The royal figure is enclosed within a beaded or rope circle, above which the radiant Tetragrammaton in Hebrew characters (יהוה) is displayed in the field. The peripheral legend in Latin runs outside the inner circle along the coin's rim.

Reverse description A crowned flat-topped heraldic shield bearing the Greater Arms of Sweden occupies the central field, partially enclosed within a circle. The quartered shield displays three crowns in the first and fourth quarters and the Folkung Lion in the second and third quarters, with a smaller central escutcheon bearing the Vasa sheaf. The date is divided by the shield on either side. The denomination legend in Latin characters is arranged outside the inner circle along the rim.
