Beschrijving voorzijde Crowned and armored half-length effigy of King Gustav Vasa facing three-quarters, wielding a raised sword in the right hand and holding a globus cruciger in the left, symbolizing royal and temporal authority. The bust is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend running in the outer annulus. The armored depiction conveys the king's dual role as both military leader and sovereign. Mintmark appears within the legend.

Aanvullende informatie

Gustav Vasa's Åbo mint — operating in what is now Turku, Finland — was one of several provincial mints the king established to push coin production closer to raw silver sources and reduce dependence on Stockholm. The Type II designation distinguishes a revised die arrangement introduced mid-production, a refinement that numismatists use to sequence the output of what was already an inconsistent operation.

Gustav died in 1560, and many of his Finnish-minted issues saw limited circulation beyond the Baltic trading sphere.
