正面描述 Armored and laureate bust of King Gustav II Adolf facing left, depicted in profile within a double-line circular border. The Tetragrammaton (יהוה) in Hebrew characters radiates above the king's head within the inner legend band. Two concentric lines frame the royal effigy, enclosing a double-register Latin legend identifying the king as hereditary prince and designated King of Sweden. The portrait is rendered in a robust early 17th-century hammered style, emphasizing the laureate wreath and armored pauldron.

附加信息

Gustav II Adolf was nineteen years old when this type entered production, having inherited a kingdom simultaneously at war with Denmark, Russia, and Poland. The Mark coinage of this period was minted under considerable fiscal pressure — Sweden's treasury was chronically strained, and silver supply depended heavily on imports and war indemnities rather than domestic mining. Type I is distinguished from the later issues of his reign by specific die characteristics that reflect the Stockholm mint's evolving engraving capacity during the early 1610s.
