Obverse description Central crowned shield bearing the quartered arms of Denmark, set within a beaded inner circle. A long-armed cross extends behind the shield, dividing the surrounding legend into four segments. The legend, rendered in Latin, runs along the periphery between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border at the rim. The design is characteristic of the hammered coinage of Christian III, with a bold heraldic composition typical of mid-16th century Danish royal issues.
