| Reverse description | The reverse is a richly illustrated composition in black line-work with yellow and blue colour accents, designed by Egon Tschirch (whose name appears in the upper left corner). The central vignette depicts a scene of the founding of the Doberan Monastery, with a robed bishop gesturing authoritatively over prostrate armoured figures, a swan in flight to the upper left, and radiating lines suggesting divine light. The denomination '1 MARK' in bold yellow gothic numerals and the inscriptions NOTGELD DOBERAN STADT appear across the upper field, with the caption GRÜNDUNG DES KLOSTERS DOBERAN along the lower border. |
