正面描述 The obverse is divided into three vertical panels beneath a decorative border, with the central panel bearing the municipal coat of arms of Strasburg — a crenellated tower gateway in red and grey with an eagle displayed in gules — above the large Gothic-script denomination "Eine Mark". The left panel carries a letterpress vignette of the Volksschule (public school) and the right panel a corresponding vignette of the Evangelische Kirche (Protestant church), both rendered in fine line illustration. 备注

Strasburg in der Uckermark — now Stargard in northeastern Brandenburg, renamed in 1939 to avoid confusion with the far more prominent Alsatian city — issued this note during the acute small-change crisis that followed Germany's defeat. Municipal and local authorities across the country were forced to produce their own Kleingeldersatz when coin circulation collapsed, and the Magistrat here commissioned J. Adolf Schwarz in Lindenberg im Allgäu, a Bavarian printing house that handled a disproportionate share of small-town notgeld contracts in 1919.

Schwarz's press was roughly 800 kilometers from the issuing town — an unremarkable arrangement for the period, when local print capacity was frequently overwhelmed.
