Obverse description Multicolour Notgeld note printed in black, orange, and yellow on cream paper, with Fraktur script throughout. The central vignette presents the municipal coat of arms of Bad Neuenahr — a black eagle on a golden shield — set within a blue vertically-lined oval, framed by a laurel wreath. The issuer's name 'BAD-NEUENAHR' arches above the shield in bold lettering, flanked by the denomination '1 Mk' at upper left and 'Mk 1' at upper right. To the lower left, a diamond-shaped monogram cartouche bearing the initials 'BN' is printed in orange and white. The right margin carries a validity notice in Fraktur, and the lower panel bears the cheque payment instruction and issuance details including 'Neuenahr, 1. März 1922' and the signature of the Kurdirektion.

Reverse description Black and orange woodcut-style vignette on cream paper, with ornamental side panels. The central scene depicts a reclining female allegorical figure beside a steaming thermal spring, with a Rhine valley landscape and a hilltop castle visible in the background; leafy branches frame the upper right. Symmetrical side panels in orange and black carry stylised grapevine and basket motifs, with the numeral '1' in orange at each upper corner and 'Mk' in Fraktur at each lower corner. A red-orange horizontal band at the foot of the vignette carries a two-line poetic inscription in Fraktur.
