背面描述 The reverse carries a full-width vignette in brown and ochre tones illustrating a dramatic naval battle scene, with a large sailing warship under cannon fire in the foreground and a second vessel in the middle distance, both flying Danish ensigns — a clear allusion to the Battle of Eckernförde of 5 April 1849. The composition is framed by an oak-leaf border in letterpress. Denomination numerals '1 M' and 'M 1' appear in the upper corners, and the date '5. APRIL 1849' is inscribed along the lower edge.

备注

Eckernförde is a small coastal district in Schleswig-Holstein, and like hundreds of German municipalities in 1921, it issued its own notgeld to compensate for the chronic shortage of small-denomination Reichsmark coinage that persisted well into the early Weimar years. The district-level issues are among the more obscure in notgeld collecting — overshadowed by the elaborate "series" notgeld produced by larger towns for the collector market — but they were genuinely functional currency, not philatelic merchandise.

The "W.B." monogram attribution to a W. Bauer is provisional; the initials appear in the design field but the printer remains unconfirmed.
